Let Words Fly Free

if she knew what hid beneath this mask

she’d fly half way around the world

so the earth would separate us.

gravity would be pulling us together

the earth would be pushing us apart

we’d never be close, but we’d never be far.

The young soldier sat against the tree.  He looked around and saw what misery war could bring, and questioned it’s purpose.

He held her in his arms.  One last embrace.  He brought her cold and steely lips to his.

He pulled the trigger.  And swallowed the bullet.

He wondered, “Will she say yes?”

one looks towards

the other looks away

i have gone cross eyed

in trying to decide

I tried to forget you.  

I hid you away in the recesses of my mind.  

I’ve tried to kill

my infatuation,

my intrigue,

my desires for you.

It would be better that way.  

Less heart break.

for me

for you. 

But then,

then I realized something,

I’m much happier when you’re on my mind.  

Life is livable when I can remember

your smile,

your laughter,  

when I whisper

your name as I drift off to sleep.  

I may never have you,

but for now

you’re all I have.

rain water streams through cracks in the sidewalk

the puddle ebbs through the drains

red fallen leaves float along the little rivers

get caught by the grate, damming small streams

into large puddle lakes on the city streets.

the pitter patter rain washes away the dry summer

cleansing the earth before its winter slumber.

The sun sweeps away the fears

and tears from clouds fall through

captured on umbrellas and leaves

and colours the grass with morning dew

dry the tears with skies of blue

I have to wait for awhile,

will you wait with me?

give me more to look forward for

I already pray for you

and continuously think of you

I hope that you are God’s plan for me,

that we’d be more than just friends.

I want to hold your hand

and never let it go.

I want to tell you how amazing you are

just because you are.

I’ve never met anyone like you

will you wait for me?

while I wait for you.

Sometimes I want to give up

When I think I have nothing to live for
